Older Cottage Watch News from our area

There have been reports of a few minor thefts around the lakes this summer, and a couple of reports of vandalism.  Although many incidents may seem like they are not worth reporting, the Association urges you to report any incident to the Parry Sound O.P.P. at (705) 746-4225 or by e-mail.  The O.P.P. are already investigating a major act of vandalism and theft in the area, and any additional information might lead to a breakthrough in that case, and may put an end to whatever else is going on.

The Parry Sound O. P. P. need your help.  In July 2002, there was a break-in at the little log cottage on the island in Little McKellar Lake (Grey Owl Lake) ... the one you can see from the dam on McKellar Lake Road.  There were some items removed from the property and some vandalism.  There was also a note left by about seven people saying that they would bring the items back next year.  If you have seen any suspicious activity on the island, or know who may have visited the island property without permission, you are asked to contact Detective Constable Bob Fremlin of the West Parry Sound O. P. P. by e-mail, or by phone at (705) 746-4225 or contact Crime Stoppers.
